Professional footballers support children

The Ralf Rangnick Foundation finds new sponsors for primary schools in Leipzig and collects further donations of up to EUR 80,000 for children in the city.

Leipzig. The successful partnership model “Companies support schools” of the Ralf Rangnick Foundation is taking the next step: Famous football celebrities will support pupils from primary schools in Leipzig as sponsors – first and foremost, many of the RB Leipzig football players, specifically Péter Gulácsi, Willi Orban, Lukas Klostermann, Marcel Halstenberg, Yussuf Poulsen, Emil Forsberg, Konrad Laimer, Timo Werner, Marcel Sabitzer, Diego Demme and Kevin Kampl.

Among others, the professional footballers advise teachers and children in sports projects and will financially support specific ideas of the schools (with up to EUR 5,000 per player) in the next school year.

Moreover, the Ralf Rangnick Foundation has also brought together further sponsors from sports and primary schools in the city:

  • Julian Nagelsmann, RB Leipzig football coach, and the 74th primary school in Leipzig
  • Oliver Markus Krösche, RB Leipzig Sports Director, and the Joachim-Ringelnatz-School
  • Paul Mitchell, RB Leipzig Head of Recruitment and Development, with the Leipzig Active School

Nagelsmann, Krösche and Mitchell will support their partner schools’ projects with a budget of up to EUR 9,000 per school year. In principle, the sponsored projects are not only related to the school’s curriculum but also to social subjects and can differ from school to school. The sponsors establish a cooperation with the respective primary school for one year with the aim of networking and enriching the schools through an active partnership.
